Representatives from the RSL, Millicent Police, SES, CFS, Millicent and District Hospital, Southend Red Cross, Rotary, Lions, Scouts and Girl Guides laid wreaths in memory of the fallen. St Anthony’s Catholic Primary, Millicent North, Newbery Park, Kangaroo Inn, Mount Burr and Tantanoola Primary school representatives also laid wreaths at the Cross of Sacrifice. Mr Williams and Mr Gandolfi laid a wreath along with a representative for Member for Barker Tony Pasin. Private wreaths were laid on behalf of Ted Lewis, the late Private Milton Stanway and the late Ron Lane. Following the mid-morning service, attendees were invited to the planting of the Lone Pine at the Millicent Civic and Arts Centre. Veterans Jack Kent, Henry Hawke and Fred Ellis planted the tree.
