No bowls break COMPETITION continued at Millicent Bowling Club over the Christmas period with two Thursday 2-4-2 matches held, attracting over 30 players to each event. Christmas 2-4-2 Thursday matches at Millicent Bowling Club attracted 32 bowlers on December 22 and 36 participants on December 29. A draw on scores of 33+14 meant the December 22 event went down to percentage, with Bill Burdon and Wayne Burris (70.0pc) winning from Steve Carnellor and Peter Hyland (65.2pc). Rink winners on the day included Terry Barnes and Malcolm McRobert (30+2), Herb Henderson and David Reichelt (30+4), Kevin Altschwager and Jim Campbell (31+4), John Scudds and Rosalie Burdon (31+9), Phill Dowdell and Peter Rice (32+7), and Ian Ross and Alan Strother (33+9). Overall winners for the Somerset 2-4-2 on December 29 with 34+2 were Peter r ink winne r s Varcoe and Wayne Ross. The runners-up were David Reichelt and Shirley Thiele on 32+11. Each grade plays on a specific course each day with various starting times, depending on the number of players in each field. The last Saturday is a mixed four ball, better ball Stableford which will be played in a relaxed atmosphere after a week of good fun and camaraderie.
