Morning tea raises Cancer Council funds MEMBERS of the Tantanoola community recently rallied together in the fight against cancer for an Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea event. Close to 50 people rallied behind organiser Arvan Carthew at the Tantanoola Football Club’s rooms on May 25 for the 16th time to raise essential funds for the Cancer Council. Ms Carthew said more than $720 was raised for the charity, with many attendees heralding the event a success. “Some of the guests came from Resthaven in Millicent and they absolutely loved it,” she said. “There were two gentlemen who said they were coming back next year.” Tea lovers were spoiled for choice with a selection of cakes, slices and biscuits served by volunteers, including Tantanoola Primary School students Bethan Roberts and sisters Sophia and Gabbi Hartland. “The primary school students did such a good job making cuppas, taking food around and talking to all the Sex offender laws tightened REGISTERED child sex offenders will be prohibited from leaving Australia or holding Australian passports under new laws introduced by the Federal Government. Drink driver to face court A SOUTHEND man will face court after he was allegedly detected drink driving in the Millicent central business district on Sunday morning.
