THE team of Brian Atkinson and Bill Burdon has taken out the Foster's Foodland 2-4-2 event at the Millicent Bowling Club with a score of 35+15. The pair finished ahead of Derek Bowering and Peter Scanlon who finished with 33+23, followed up in third place by Bob Baxter and Clive Stevens on 32+5. Other winning teams were Jim Campbell and Rod Gibbs (31+4), John Drew and Derk Pietersma (31+1), Rob Chambers, P. Dowdell and David Botting (30+1), Malcolm Wright and Denis Clifford (28+1), Peter Hyland and John Scudds (19+0) and, finally, Ron Trewin and Iain Campbell (21+0). Daph Chapman afternoon A VERY successful afternoon was held in honour of Life Member Daph Chapman at the Millicent Bowling Club with Daph on hand to watch the play and present prizes to the winners. Points were accumulated over one game of 12 ends and one game of 10 ends played in a triples format. Shirley Galpin, Mary Campbell and David Botting took the honours with the score of 54+10 ahead of Margaret Fennell, Margaret Johnson and Alby Cecotti with 52+12. Rounding out the top three was the team of Clive Stevens, Alan Strother and Heather Carthew on 33+4. THIRD PLACE: The team of Clive Stevens (left), Alan Strother and Heather Carthew were presented their third place prize by Daph Chapman. Atkinson and Burdon winners of 2-4-2 event HONOURED: Daph Chapman was on hand to watch the action and present prizes at a Millicent Bowling Club event named in her honour. THE team of Clive Stevens and Dennis Schulz has taken out the Mod Cleaning 2-4-2 compe- tition on the Millicent Bowling Club's Hahn and Somerset Greens with an impressive 34+20 final score. The pair took the honours from a field of 36 bowlers. Stiff breeze throughout the day made for tough conditions and the quality field provided just as tough competition, with a tie recorded between the teams of Colin Pye/Iain Campbell and Malcolm Wright/ Peter Varcoe. The day's winning teams were Ed Fitter and Lindsay Warneke (29+1) on rink eight, Arnold Damhuis and Steve Carnellor (30+2) on rink nine, Max Richards and Terry Barnes (31+1) on rink four, Neil Whelan and David Botting (31+12) on rink three and Alby Cecotti and Herb Henderson (32+10) on rink 10. Peter Bateman and Peter Scanlon finished the day second overall with a score of 33+11 ahead of third-placed Wayne Burris and Phil Ryan with 33+2.
