WEDDING 11 BOYS, TOYS AND MARRIAGE: Millicent’s Janay Conlon wed Adelaide’s Dan Tucker in a ceremony that reflected their unique personalities. Unique wedding celebration Couple proclaims everlasting love at Gawler ceremony WHEN Dan Tucker visited the Somerset Hotel during a trip to Millicent in 2009, he was not prepared to take anything - except a headache - back to Adelaide. Fate dealt him an undeniable hand when he caught the attention of bartender and social butterfly Janay Conlon at the well-known watering hole. Little did the Gawler-born local know that he would return to Millicent five years later armed with a proposal for everlasting love over a glorious sunset, with children Mikhaela and Angus cheering him on in the background. Janay, daughter of Millicent’s Sheree and Paul Conlon, wed Dan, son of Gawler’s Christopher and Pamela Tucker, in an intimate ceremony in the groom’s hometown on Saturday, March 8. Gawler’s turn of the century Cork’s Cottage was the venue for the ceremony with 80 guests travelling across the state to witness the couple bound in holy matrimony. The bride looked stunning in a Henry Roth full-length ivory lace grown with a champagne crystal belt. Her hair was worn in a classic twist in an up-style, finished with a unique feathered embellishment embodying the rustic theme of the wedding. Janay’s matron of honour was sister Ylana Bowering and her bridesmaids included stepdaughter Mikhaela Tucker and Millicent school friends Ashley Clarke and Erin Little. Best man Jason Greatbatch attended Dan and his groomsmen were Adam Aldenhoven John Corke and Daniel Lawson. After the garden ceremony, guests joined the newlyweds at Gawler’s Café Nova for an elegant and fun-filled reception. Two weeks after the ceremony, the newlyweds returned to Millicent for a second wedding at the Millicent and District Community Club for friends and family who were unable to be at the Adelaide wedding. The couple honeymooned in Thailand before settling in Gawler. EVERLASTING LOVE: Dan and Janay Tucker sealed their vows at their Gawler wedding on Saturday, March 8.
