Before you call to place your tips, make sure you have your registration number, pin number and tipping code ready. You will form your tipping code from the weekly draw printed in The South Eastern Times each Tuesday. You must use the weekly draw in The South Eastern Times as the order of the games printed is the same as programmed into the computerised 1900 phone number and may vary from another fi xture card. For each game listed, select your winner by writing down a number one if it is the fi rst team mentioned or a number two if it is the second team mentioned. The number three represents a draw. For example: If the fi rst game listed is Essendon v Adelaide and you choose Essendon, then the fi rst number in your tipping code will be the number one. If you choose Adelaide to win, it would be number two. After making your choices you should end up with a tipping code consisting of eight numbers that looks something like this 1,1,1,2,2,1,1,2. Each week one of the matches will be highlighted and for this game you must pick a winning points margin. When you ring the 1900 number you will be asked to use the keypad on your phone to punch in your registration number, your pin number, your eight digit tipping code and your winning points margin. It is important to have this information ready before you call because the 1900 system is set up with a fi ve second allowance between each keypad entry and will cut out if you take too long. This means you will have to ring again and cost you another call. Please wait for the beep after each voice prompt before entering the appropriate numbers. If you make a mistake or wish to change your tips you will need to phone again. The system will record your new tips and erase any previous entry. The 1900 number is open 24 hours but will shut down 30 minutes (SA time) prior to the start of the fi rst match in each round and no further tips will be accepted until all matches in that round have been played. If you have any problems accessing the 1900 number please check that your phone is switched to tone and that your service provider does not have a bar on 1900 numbers for your phone. Should you have any queries or problems with placing your tips or any aspect of The South Eastern Times AFL Tipping Competition please contact The South Eastern Times.
